Timing of urinary bladder catheter removal after radical hysterectomy. A single institution study.
Functional disorders of the lower urinary tract are the most common complications following radical hysterectomy necessitating catheterization. This study aims to evaluate the average day of removal of bladder catheter after radical hysterectomy and assess the practicability of earlier removal without compromising the bladder function. A descriptive observational study of patients who underwent radical hysterectomy for cervical and endometrial cancer. Clinical , intraoperative and anesthesia records and results of the histopathologic diagnosis of each patient were reviewed.
